Oreo Cupcakes

Hello Dolls!

It's that time of the month, stirred with a bit of a melancholy mood and we have the perfect setting for baking cupcakes!
My friend Viktorija and I met up yesterday for Starbucks (so good!) and then I was feeling like I wanted to bake...and not fail for the first time. So, I suggested that we should bake some oreo cupcakes. We headed to Tesco and picked up some Oreos and butter, then we went to bake!
So here is the recipe and process documented with some pictures ;)

 Ingredients:
Ingredients

  •  175g butter at room temperature
  • 165g caster sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 40g cocoa powder
  • 125g flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • oreos
(I also bought some soft cheese....but the frosting failed so lets just ignore that part)

Method:

(pre heat the oven to 180 degrees)

Sugar and Butter mixed
Measuring out the dry ingredients
Flour and Cocoa to the batter

  1. First thing we did was put the butter and sugar in a bowl. Then using a mixer we whisked the two together, this created a smooth texture.
  2. Second thing that we did was measure the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder. We then mixed the 3 together.
  3. We then added the 3 dry ingredients to the butter/sugar mixture. Adding small amounts at a time in order to make the mixing in easier.
  4. Next, we took a pack of oreos and crushed them in a separate bowl. (I must say this was very therapeutic....if you are ever angry just buy a pack of oreos and crush them haha...it helps)
  5. After acting like a bunch of 5 year olds with the oreos, we added the crushed biscuits to the mixture. Then mixed everything together and voila!!
  6. After the mixture is complete, I set up the cupcake cases while Viktorija filled them with the mixture. Then we placed them in the oven for 17 minutes...during this time I made Viktorija a Baileys Coffee and we attempted making frosting...but failed haha so we decided not to have the frosting :)
  7. After 17 minutes we took the cupcakes out and let them cool for another 10-20 minutes.
  8. We ended up making 20 Cupcakes...so what do 2 young women do with 20 cupcakes? Well, I left some for the family and then the rest I gave out to my neighbours who have young children :)...Spreading the love <3
  9. Finished Cupcakes :)
  10. FINALLY!!! The last thing left to do is to eat the cupcake preferably with cold milk :)

The Verdict:

My family loved the cupcakes and Viktorija said they taste just like brownies, which I agree. The cupcakes were harder on top and then soft in the middle with crunchy pieces of oreos.
Also, my neighbours said that the cupcakes were amazing so I guess this was a success :)

Hope you enjoyed this recipe xoxo

How I: Organize My Make-Up & Beauty Products

Hello Dolls!

I have recently (actually just today) changed my whole make up storage and I am pretty excited to share this with you. Perhaps I may inspire some of you to find not-so-expensive items to store your make up in :)
This past week, I have been browsing a lot on the internet and luckily on e-bay I found some great items to use for make up storage, which are not expensive at all. The Essex Signs & Displays ltd are a great company to get these beautiful acrylic products and I will shows in the pictures below just how I have used them to create a nicer place for my make-up to live in :) The website for the company is www.esd-ltd.co.uk and the display products that I purchased cost me around £7-8.

So... This is my getting ready area. All my make-up is in the clear acrylic displays (which isn't much as I have recently thrown out a lot of my make-up) and in the left box there are a few beauty products that I use frequently.

On top of the box I keep a frame with "A little message to cheer you up" which I received from my little sister for my birthday. Next to it, I have a small glass with face masks, nail filers and my new purchase the L'Oreal Fibrology Thickness Booster. I also have a small plastic box with bobby pins inside and around everything are a few healing crystals and a little bird stone that I got from my nana when I was really young.

Inside the box, I have a small jewellery box which has got crystals inside it, some medications such as Ibuprofen and prescription medicine, Cutex Moisture Guard Nail Varnish Remover, Nivea Moisturizer, Dove Gradual Tan and finally some Nip+Fab products.

In the centre of the table I have the nail polish display which was £7.49 from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/essex-signs-and-displays I have used it to place all my nail varnishes there, majority being from Barry M and Models Own. However, on the top shelf I have placed my foundations; L'Oreal Nude Magique, Estee Lauder Double Wear, Chanel Pefection Lumiere, Bourjois Healthy Mix, Serum and the 123 Perfect. Next to these, is the Origins Blemish Remover, Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser Primer and Bourjois Happy Light Primer.
The Nail Polish Display from Esd-ltd.

Between my "beauty box" and my nail varnish display I have a clear acrylic box with 2 drawers. On top of the box I keep my everyday essentials such as concealer, powder, mascara, blusher and eye liners. In the top drawer I keep my bronzer, blusher & sharpener and in the bottom
drawer I keep all my lip liners, lipsticks and lip glosses.

Finally, to the far right I keep my make-up brushes in jars. I purchased these 2 jars from Wilkinson; £1 for the small jar and £2 for the big jar. In the small jar I keep my eye make-up brushes.....except for the one brush which is for powder, but it was too short for the big jar...sorry brush :( And in my big jar I keep all my face make-up brushes, which I purchased from Wilkinson and some on Ebay. (The brushes from Wilkinson are AMAZING, they are high quality and do not shed like many of other brushes that I have tried in the past.

So......This post has come to an end and I am surprisingly sad,  I hope some of you reading this will have enjoyed reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it.

Have a lovely day and remember to smile :) xoxo

Our Love, Our Dreams

Good Morning My Darlings,

When I was in school I really enjoyed poetry and analyzing language, so today I thought to post a poem as a reminder of my own passions and interests.

During very hard times, we tend to lose ourselves and with that we forget our dreams, our passions and hobbies. I wanted to begin my journey of healing by going back to what I have always loved to do and I hope that you too can do something today that will light up your heart and make you happy.

This is a poem called 'Our Love'

I cannot fathom the irony or perhaps the destiny
of how we happily
entered the jealousy both mentally and physically.
He dragged me and I dragged him with me too;
two bodies entwined with each other, now
colliding like particles of sand in war.
The intense love turned to hate and lovers turned to war enemies.
Our love was bipolar, it had cancer, it was green and sick and spread like a virus.
Our love was deceitful, running like a roller coaster-up and down and up and down again ,over and over again- everyday .
Our love had only dirty hands and venom voice, no words of faith, peace or kindness.
Our love was a ripper, a race of who would finish who first.
And the prize?
The purple outlines on my arms or the warmth on my cheeks, or maybe it were the crystal drops from your eyes...
I must say they gave me satisfaction,
now you feel what I feel,
let your world crumble now,
let it shutter into pieces and
cry blood from your heart as it bleeds our love.
I said “Father, my Lord” but I hear no answer
Like I’m stuck in a vacuum and you in the back room
I said “Help” and he kept silent.

xoxo

Get To Know Me Tag

Hello my darlings,

I deserve a kick in the butt for not posting much more (I'm so sorry) but from now on I will try my best to post at least weekly *fingers crossed*. I was having a conversation with my mum and we started to talk about my blog and she inspired me not to be scared and just write.."You have so much information on things that interests people and can help them, write about those things" (My mum). As a result I decided to kick myself (NOT literally) and start writing. I think I remain quite detached from people and rarely let people in, so I thought what a better idea than to let you know more about me...Let's get started with the Get To Know Me Tag :)

February Favourites

Good Morning Darlings,

It has been such a long time since I have posted anything and that's just because of a lot of changes in my life that have taken time to adjust to. Moving onto campus accommodation in the middle of the first semester alone had a huge toll on me as it was extremely stressful. Nevertheless, I have just spent the last few months recovering from a long term issue and currently I am happy with the process, however the subject is still sensitive and therefore I will leave this at that...at least for now.

Okaay! So, February just flew by and I have a few favourites I would like to share with ya'll :)

1.) Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer- £7.99 (Superdrugs, Boots)

First of all let me begin with how Frickin Amazing this product is, I absolutely love it. I bought this in January and since I have used this everyday!! Because I live in the UK, right now I'm as pale as a ghost (seriously, I think that's even an under statement) and I found that my new bought Bourjois foundation is just too dark, as a solution to this I bought this concealer to lighten my foundation to the complexion that suits me and to cover the scars on my acne prone teenager face!

I cannot stress enough how well this product has been working for me:

  • It has great coverage
  • Staying power is incredible (I usually wear make up for along time and this concealer doesn't look orange or caked on but rather is a hint of pure perfection.
  • The colour is really light (51) so I use it for under my eyes (whoop whoop!!)
However, I have found one negative thing about using this product:

  • Clogging Pores- When I first got this product I used small amounts in areas where I needed it, however as I started to love this product more and more by the second, I started to use more of it in places that didn't even need the extra coverage.
So what happened?

Well, I'm an 18 (19 in a couple of months) teenager and my skin breaks out so easily (can you feel my pain?) and I find that my I have stubborn clogged pores on my forehead and chin. Using this concealer (which is obviously thicker than foundation) really didn't help my issue of clogged pores, and I found that 3 months using this product my skin BROKE OUT like a mother******!! (I didn't leave my room one day it was that bad...blame the hormones)
......Anyway, moral of the story; this product is absolutely brilliant, just use tiny amounts to where you really need it and learn from my mistakes that LESS is definitely MORE!!

2.) La Roche Posay- Effaclar Duo £15.50 (Boots)

Love LOve LOVe LOVE!!!! I think I'm in love...not with a man, but with this product!!

I have had my fair share of break outs, clogged pores, under skin bumpy spots, scars, blemishes, redness and all that lovely (not) jazzzzzzz!! A few months back I started to notice these under skin spots that were tiny and never came to a head...yep! They just sat under my skin chilling...making me self conscious and obsessed with saying what the f*** are these and WHY are they on MY face :000

However, I then discovered this beautiful product called Effaclar Duo from La Roche Posay, and after popular youtubers like Tanya Burr and Ruth from AmodelRecommends have praised this product for being effective to get rid of blemishes and impurities, I decided that I was desperate enough to try this!

Within, a couple of weeks I couldn't believe how good my skin looks, those ugly bumps disappeared and I was left with an amazing complexion of practically no spots, scars, blemishes or even clogged pores!

Effaclar Duo is a hero in my heart! My self esteem is quite dependent on the state of my skin (I know it's stupid but I have my imperfections and weaknesses), so if my skin looks like horse sh** I will probably feel like an ant wanting to hide under a rock ASAP! But, when my skin looks good, I feel fantastic, enthusiastic and extremely happy (Wow! Sounds like something a drug would do to a person...nope, I don't do drugs, but this cream has been my form of addiction).

So, what did this "Effaclar Duo" miracle done for me?

  • Eliminated under skin bumps (blemishes)
  • Unclogged pores
  • Eliminated spots
Overall: Improved my skin and got rid of all the nasty crap that didn't want to leave my face!

If any of you suffer from those under skin bumps or have any blemishes, I highly recommend this product. It has worked for me in magical ways and I'm so grateful for discovering this addiction.

Let me know if any of you have used this product and whether it has or hasn't worked for you and if you have any recommendations, I would be happy to hear some! :)

Thank You for Reading My Blog,

Lots of Love: EliseBliss xoxo

October Favourites!!!

Hello My Darlings,

I haven't posted anything in almost a century (this is the part where I'm suppose to be funny...no?..okay...) but it has been a very long time so I thought that starting with a favourites is the way to go (whoohoo)

So, let's get this party started...

I am very pleased to inform you lovely readers that I have FINALLY bought Estee Lauder Double Wear and if I must say I kept on going back to Debenhams at least 5 times before I plucked up the courage to purchase it...and I must say I'm loving it :) Therefore, this is on top of my favourites list this month.

1.) Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation- £28 Debenhams
Shade- Pure Beige

Let me describe you my feelings towards this product in 3 words: love love love this foundation!
Why I love it?
-This is the only foundation that stays in place for the whole day for me (I'm at university now and sometimes when I'm there for the whole day it is a pain in the back having to worry whether my 'face' is still on) BUT with Double Wear I don't need to worry because the product does not move anywhere :) (yaaaay)

-It doesn't go cakey, orange or patchy! And after 12 hours of wear it still looks amazing!
-It didn't break me out (thank goodness for that)
-The coverage is super super amazing as recently my skin has gone through World War 3 and I really needed that extra coverage so I am very pleased that this foundation made me more confident during my skin's battle! To sum up, this foundation definitely deserves the 'hype' and I would advise any of you who are looking for a long lasting and high coverage foundation to purchase this baby as it is truly magical :)

2.) Nivea: Eye make-up remover, Regenerating Night Cream + Express Hydration Primer

My second favourites come in 3's from one of my most adored brands: Nivea

Most of you won't know that, I am a huge fan of Nivea! I think that their products not only smell amazing but they also work to improve my skin!

I have recently purchased the Eye Make-Up Remover (£3.49- Superdrugs, Boots, Wilkinsons (any drug store I suppose)) which I have almost finished now...(sad face) and I can honestly say that it is amazing! My favourite thing about it, is that it is gentle on the eyes and doesn't irritate them, as well as removing the make up very efficiently and with ease.

The second purchase from Nivea has been the Regenerating Night Cream (£4.15-Superdrugs, Tesco, Boots (any drug store))  and guuuuurl I can tell you that it works! When I put this on before I go to bed, when I wake up my skin feels hydrated, smooth and GLOWING!!! I admire this product and sometimes I forget how good it actually is!...It is a heavy cream (as it is for night time but it hasn't broke me out so I am very pleased with this product)

My last purchase was the Express Hydration Primer (£4.99- Superdrugs, Tesco, Boots (any drug store)) and I use it everyday before my foundation and I've really enjoyed using it. It has a gel like consistency and is very lightweight which makes my skin feel smooth and hydrated but doesn't feel heavy (which is perfect as a base for the foundation). I use this alongside the Double Wear foundation and I like that both of these products have worked well for me on my skin and keep my whole make up stay out for the whole day (which can sometimes be up to 16 hours).

In general, like I said Nivea is really one of the top brands for me and I enjoy the smell of their products so much that I would purchase everything by Nivea if I could :) I hope you guys will try these products as they are my Holy Grain essentials for my day to day skincare and they are also affordable :)

I hope that you have enjoyed this post and Thank You so much for reading my blog! Please feel welcome to comment and ask questions or simply have a chat about your opinions and views on these products....Much L-O-V-E and until next time...Mwuah :) xx

How to lose weight!!

Firstly I want to tell you that I am not a professional of any kind and I have lost about 15kg in a couple of months after trying diets (that failed) and all sorts of stuff like starving myself and then eating too much...I've tried it all and I finally found a solution...yaaay!!
I decided to write about losing weight because I know how being fat changed me as a person and how I approached others and myself so I want to help you to break free of crying over your weight or taking it out on your friends, family or partner.

Firstly, let me tell you that if you think your weight loss journey will be easy and fast then you are wrong. It takes motivation and dedication to really change your lifestyle, lose the pounds and keep them off.

So....How to lose weight effectively?

  • Make small changes first like drinking coke only during the weekend or every other day and then progress to having none at all...same applies to any kind of habit, whether it's coke, chocolate, crisps etc. and believe that YOU CAN DO THIS- because YOU CAN!!....of course if you are really determined to lose weight you can cut the junk food such as McDonalds, chocolate or fizzy drinks completely from the start..this may speed the process up too as you are no longer feeding your body the bad, nasty foods!
  • Eat good, healthy food! What you eat is so important when you are trying to lose weight! Many professionals have found that exercise plays only 30% into your weightloss and the 70% is all diet! Eat Protein to keep you fuller for longer- for breakfast you could make 2 scrambled eggs with a slice of wholemeal bread however instead of using your usual oil- you may want to buy the 1 Calorie Frying Oil- approx £1.70- this will reduce how many calories you consume!

1 Calorie Frying Spray- approx £1.70
    Yummy!

  • Exercise- start with exercising 3 times a week for 20-40 minutes! If you are just starting out with doing any form of exercise I know that something like running for 10 minutes can be almost impossible so start small and each week progress....for example the first week you may want to go for a 30 minute walk and the next week perhaps hit the gym and run for as long as you can before getting too tired.
  • Enjoy the exercise- I know it may seem like a lot of effort to be hitting the gym 3 days a week or even more so maybe sign up to group classes such as bum, tums and thighs, pilates, yoga etc- It will be a lot more fun starting out in group sessions as they will give you more motivation to keep going and keep you interested. But you don't have to go to the gym- you can simply go for jogs or long fast paced walks!
  • Use YouTube!!- you can find plenty of exercises by professionals on youtube- for example the whole 30 Day Shred Programme by Jillian Michaels is available on youtube and its FREE!!! This involves only 20 minutes a day of exercise!...so use youtube to find exercise programmes that will help you to enjoy working out!
  • Don't drink alcohol- a lot of alcohol has an astonishing number of calories. If you eat well  and then drink and go over the limit of calories a day that you should then you will gain weight.
  • MyFitnessPal- This is an app that I have downloaded on my iphone to calculate how many calories I consume each day and how much I burn! Not everyone has a smartphone but if you do then this app is truly amazing as most of the time we underestimate how many calories we really consume so having an app like this keeps you in check!
  • Overall the best tip is to eat less and exercise more!- However don't deprive yourself of the foods you like- if one day you decide you want to have pizza then go right ahead and eat some BUT know your limits- don't eat a whole pizza alone- eat 3/4 slices if you're still not good after 2! Also don't do this everyday, leave maybe a Friday or Saturday as your 'easy' day- you eat healthy but you can allow yourself for that bar of chocolate, pizza or even that lovely red wine that's been calling your name for a week now!
  • BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!!!!- everyday wake up and look in the mirror and tell yourself that you can do this because I know you can and if you believe it too and really dedicate to it then you will prosper and achieve the body you have always desired!!

Please leave me any questions you may have and I will be sure to answer them! Subscribe/Follow me :)
